“Batik,” a textile art that comes to our country from the Far East, is still widely practiced in countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, and China. However, it is not well known in our country. The batik technique is applied to natural silk or cotton fabrics. There are many different techniques, with the most common being tie-dye and wax techniques.

We produce our works using the wax batik technique. This technique requires patience and care, much like the silkworm spinning its cocoon. The artist’s freedom of movement is limited, but in the final stage of this technique, when the fabric is dipped into the dye, extraordinary cracks and color transitions can be achieved. It offers you beauties you have never seen before. In this respect, batik shows similarities with the art of marbling. When I, as an artist, first encountered “Batik,” I felt the presence of a different will beyond my own, which excited me greatly…

In batik work, cracks occur that go beyond the person’s control. Life is like this… You make plans for life, but life goes beyond what you shape in your mind and cannot be repeated… This technique reminds me of life for this reason… In my works with this technique, where I can play freely according to my own perceptions; rather than conveying a message, I aim to bring back the pure and beautiful feelings from childhood in the inner world, the peace and love of lost times, and make them feel and experience the warmth and flow in colors, brush strokes, and textures, setting aside the pains.

Every product in our brand is unique and distinctive, just like our fingerprints. This product, designed by Nurcihan Velioğlu, is a single edition.
